What else should you do on Fathers Day
Fathers day can be spent with family or just fathers.
This year my brother in law Eric Hoffmann, and I decided to spend fathers day with each other fly fishing on the Missouri River.
We had a good time sporting and evening talking in the the wee hours with the Boys from Headhunters Fly Shop in Craig Montana, drinking Pendleton whiskey and listening to Chris Ledoux, over the loud speaker.
We had great weather and great Montana fly fishing for the two days that we spent out on the river.
Between hooking monster rainbow trout and browns that would make a 2x4 buckle we talked about family, friends, and travels around the country. It was a good chance for us to get to know each other better, and enjoy good times and insane fishing. Which is what fly fishing is all about. I can honestly say that I have met most of my best friends on the river.
The best line of the day was when Eric looked back at me and replied, after he had landed his seventh fish in a streak of about 12 casts,
" Is this what they call wrecking it?" |
